INTRODUCTION

This match is very interesting as Spartak Trnava surprised everyone when they won the first leg by 2-0 and now they have a good chance against Legia Warsaw who started as the favourites. Both teams played in the first round of the Champions League qualifiers and while Spartak had problems against Zrinjski, it was easy for Legia to beat Cork without any problems. SPARTAK TRNAVA

Slovakian champion Spartak will hope to continue from where they left off after they beat Legia Warsaw by 2-0 away from home in the first leg. Spartak played their game even though their rivals had some players out due to sickness. Now they have a great chance to progress but they have to avoid a big defeat here. They started their domestic championships with a defeat going down to Senica by 1-0. Last weekend they managed to beat Zlata Moravica by 1-0 at home. In the first half they were not able to break the resistance of their opponent. They scored at the 60th minute mark from the penalty spot which was the only goal that proved to be the match winner. They played with an almost different lineup to the one that played in Warsaw and it was obvious they have kept their best players for the Champions League. As for the team news, we can expect to see the same lineup which played in the first leg to start this match.



LEGIA WARSAW

They did not start their season well, but they have put the excuse that the team have been hit by sickness and that was evident in the 2-0 defeat to Spartak Trnava. But it can be said that was not the only game which the Polish champion played badly. They were also beaten in the Super Cup match with Arka despite taking the lead twice, but they still lost the match by 3-2. They did not have any problems in the first round of the Champions League as they managed to beat Cork City from Ireland in the two legs played home and away. In the first round of the Polish championship they were beaten by Zaglebia as they went down 3-1 at home. They conceded two goals by the middle of the first half and they failed to recover after that. Last weekend they managed to win their first match in the Polish Championships when they beat Korona away from home by 2-1. This time after conceding first they came back and scored two goals. They came back in the second half to turn the match around, and this might be the boost they need before the second leg clash against Spartak Trnava. Also their sick players have recovered in the meantime so we can expect a better performance from them now
