SASSUOLO

It's hard to see them finishing much high than 10th this time around and they kick off the new season with a tough fixture against Inter Milan. Having not contended for the Scudetto for a long time, many feel this team is best equipped to at least challenge Juventus. Luciano Spalletti's side finished last season with a form line of 3-0-2 winning the expected goals (xG) supremacy in 4/5 which is sensational. The Nerazzurri going forward finished with over 1.50 xG for in 4/5 which is superb. At the back during this period they have conceded on average 1.27 xG which is ok. Away from home it's 3-1-1 in the last 5 Serie A games winning the xG supremacy in 3/5. Inter Milan have finished with over 1.50 xG for in 3/5 which is very strong. Defensively, they have averaged 1.31 xG against which is decent when playing away from home.



BETTING VERDICT

I will take Over 2.75 Goals. I expect Inter to go and win this game but I think goals is the better play here. Sassuolo are likely to net at least once given the expected goals data and that Inter's defence whilst strong is not impenetrable. The Milan based side have plenty of firepower going forward and more often than not average over 2 goals on their travels. An early goal will really open this up and I think Inter will get off to a flying start here, winning the game but conceding along the way.
