Explicacion
The Gallen vs Hunt fight is set to take place on Wednesday, December 16, 2020
Gallen last fought in 2019, drawing with Barry Hall
Hunt last took the boxing ring in 2000, but has been seen in the UFC octagon since.
Paul Gallen and Mark Hunt go head to head in the ring in Sydney on Wednesday, but who will come out on top in the battle of NRL star versus the ex-UFC and kickboxing star?
The pair have had a very strong build up towards their fight, with some comments made from the Hunt camp that should spur Gallen on.
Paul Gallen (9-0-1)
Gallen's last professional fight was against AFL legend Barry Hall, where the bout ended in a draw, even though many experts thought that Hall did win the fight on points.
Prior to this, Gallen had won all nine of his fights, including against two experienced pro fighters, John Hopoate and Herman Ene Purcell.
Mark Hunt is by far his toughest test to date, and although out of the ring since 2000, he is a UFC legend, known for his power.
Gallen's build up to the fight has been rather played down, making the one bold prediction of being able to knock him out by round three or four.
With fitness and recent pro fights on his side, he does look over the odds against Mark Hunt.
Mark Hunt (0-1-1)
Hunt was a pro boxer and kickboxer and has not boxed since 2000, where he drew with Joe Askew. Continuing his kickboxing career, he then took on the UFC scene, where he was known as the knockout king, so he packs a powerful punch.
Although Hunt's boxing record does not read great, his kickboxing record stands at 43 fights for 30 wins, which was his main sport at the time of his boxing career.
Since then, he took on the UFC scene where he was in the octagon 29 times for 13 wins, 10 of them by knockouts.
His main assets from what we saw during his fighting career were his left hook and right jab, both incredibly powerful.
Hunt is the overwhelming favorite for the fight, because of his fighting experience and general power that he has, and having since stated that he will knock Gallen out with one punch, it only adds to the build of what this fight could be.
Gallen has won nine of his 10 fights, with the latter being a draw
