On Saturday there is only one match in French Ligue 2 between Lorient and Le Havre as most of the other games is on Friday. Last season Lorient finished seventh in the standings while Le Havre finished fourth spot in Ligue 2 standings.



LE HAVRE

They finished fourth in Ligue 2 last season and they qualified for a place in the elite rank but then they were stopped in the semi-finals from AC Ajaccio after a penalty shoot out Prior to that they have in the first round of playoffs beat Brest at home by 2-0, but after that they were still under pressure in Corsicia and they will once again try to win placement in the elite rank, something they have waited for the last ten years.



For the past two years they have been led by coach Tancho, so we do not expect to see major changes in their style of play for this new season. Their play generally concentrates on a very strong defence. As for the team news, they have lost midfielders Guitane and Ayasse, as well as striker Matet, while they brought in the likes of defendes Principe from Corinthians, center-back Mayembo from Grenoble and striker Bazile from Caen.



LORIENT

No Lorient believes they can oce again get all three points when Le Havre come visiting. Last season there were only four points separating each side in the standings. In between them were the likes of Brest and Clermont in the end, Lorient finished without a place in the playoffs as they were behind by three points. Their main goal was to get back into Ligue 1 considering that they did spent the previous 11 years in the top division.



But it is no doubt that young coach Landreu needs more time then just a year to get a feel of the team and also to bring them back to position to fight for placement in Ligue 1. So the expectations are high on them to do well in this coming season. They have improved their side by bringing in two new players, the likes of defender Pereiro from Guingamp and center-back Conte and midfielders Guendouz, Bounang and Danic.
