INTRODUCTION

Last season both of these two sides fared poorly and will want to forget it no doubt, especially for Anderlecht as they ended without any trophy. Now they will want to get off to a good start, while Kortrijk has played the playoffs for placement in Europa League last season, but they did not succeed. It can be said that Kortrijk played better in the additional playoffs than in the regular part of the season, but they finished second in their group. Meanwhile, Anderlecht was third in the playoffs for the champions and they must be happy to be in the Europa League this season.



KV KORTRIJK

Last season Kortrijk had a lot of ups and downs and at one stage their position in the elite division was under threat and then they came close to placement in the playoffs for the champions at the end of the regular part, but they failed. They ended up with the playoffs for placement in Europa League and in those ten matches they played well. However it was only good for second place and their season ended there. They did reached the semi finals of the Cup which was a good achievement on their part. They decided to keep faith with De Boeck as heaqd coach this season. But in the summer they made changes to the team but their biggest lost was the departure of striker Perbet who returned after his loan deal expired. The players that came into the side were the likes of center-back Naderi and striker Mboyo who made an impression in their friendly matches.



RSC ANDERLECHT

After their poor season last time out now they are even more determine to get off to a good start and win the title and anything other then that will be considered a failure. They also have targeted the Cup this season but they will not play in the Champions League after finishing only third in their Championships last season. So they will only be able to play in the Europa League this time out. They will want to get off to a good start and concentrate in their domestic Championships no doubt. They also kept Vanhaezebrouck as their head coach for another season but he will not have the same side as he did last season. They did not lose a lot of players but the likes of center-back Spajic, as well as midfielder Trezeguet, while the loans for some players have expired in the meantime. They have brought in Vranjes as their new stopper, while Ivan Santini is their new striker. In between the posts there is also a new man in the form of goalkeeper Didillon. However they will not have several players at the start as they represented their country in the World Cup in Russia but despite those players missing they still did well in their friendly matches beating the likes of Ajax and Rennes among others.
