Explicacion
HUDDERSFIELD
Huddersfield finished 16th last season on 37 points to avoid relegation in a successful campaign. Most bookies have priced them as one of the favourites to go down again and their season starts with Chelsea at home on Saturday. David Wagner's side finished last season with a form line of 1-2-2 winning the expected goals (xG) supremacy in 1/5 which is poor. Going forward Huddersfield finished with over 1.50 xG in 0/5 which is dreadful. At the back during this period they have conceded on average 1.32 xG which is ok. At home it's 1-1-3 in the last 5 Premier League games winning the xG supremacy in 2/5. The Terriers have finished with over 1.50 xG for in 0/5 which is awful. Defensively, they have averaged 1.27 xG against which is not great when playing at home.
CHELSEA
Chelsea finished outside the top 4 last season but lifted the FA Cup in May. Coach Conte is gone and Sarri is in, however he has only had 3 weeks to work with the team and there is a fear that the season is starting too soon for the Blues. Maurizio Sarri's side finished last season with a form line of 3-1-1 winning the expected goals (xG) supremacy in 4/5 which is excellent. The Blues going forward finished with over 1.50 xG for in 2/5 which is about par. At the back during this period they conceded on average 0.80 xG which is strong. Away from home it's 3-1-2 in the last 5 Premier League games winning 3 of the last 4 winning the xG supremacy in 2/5. Chelsea have finished with over 1.50 xG for in 1/5 which is poor. Defensively, they have averaged 1.04 xG against which is good when playing away from home.
BETTING VERDICT
I will take Chelsea -1 AH. I am quite against Huddersfield and feel they will do very well to avoid relegation. The Terriers don't score many goals and did not exceed over 1.50 xG in any of their last 5 overall and home games of the season. At the other end they are likely to concede at least once and I feel if Chelsea score first that may be enough to win the game. The Blues are in transition and Sarri's system needs time to bed. However, Huddersfield are a favourable match up early on and I like them to win the game as a minimum.
Good Luck
