SC Freiburg

Although a small club, SC Freiburg are one of the most stable teams in the Bundesliga. They are very tough team to beat at home, so they will surely cause a lot of problems to bigger sides this season. If we judge teams based on their pre-season performances then SC Freiburg are one of the most pleasant surprises. They played total of eight friendly matches, won six and drew just once. Last weekend SC Freiburg eliminated Energie Cottbus on penalties in the DFB Cup, so overall their form is good before the start of this season. SC Freiburg lost their standard defender Caglar Soyuncu this summer, but signed three new players who played really well in the cup match against Energie Cottbus. All eyes once again will be on the striker Nils Petersen who scored 15 goals for SC Freiburg last season and was Bundesliga second-best goalscorer.



Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt have a new coach in Adi Hutter who led the Swiss side of Young Boys to the title in Switzerland last season. However, German Bundesliga is very different competition and he already faced many problems. First Eintracht Frankfurt got thrashed by Bayern Munich in the Super Cup and lost with 5-0, but more shocking was their early exit from the DFB Cup after they got beaten by the fourth division side of Ulm with 2-1 last weekend. Eintracht Frankfurt only notable signing this summer was the attacking midfielder Filip Kostic from Hamburg. He should replace Kevin-Prince Boateng who left the club, but one signing is not enough to help this aging side. Coach Adi Hutter has some problems in selecting the team for this match as there are a couple of important players out through injuries. Croatian striker Ante Rebic is doubtful with a knock, while American defender Timothy Chandler is still in recovery.
