INTRODUCTION

The first leg ended goalless, so now there is everything to play for in Bucharest when they meet in the second leg. Both teams got past the last two rounds with wins and they also started their new season with victories. Both sides started the Europa League with two wins in the previous rounds.



FCSB

FCSB, short for Fotbal Club Steaua Bucuresti is a Romanian club based in Bucharest. Last season they finished second in the Romanian Championships. Champions Cluj had only one point more then them in the end. Other rivals were far behind them. Thus that means they started in the Europa League in pre season before their season started. They defeated Rudar from Velenje by 6-0 in aggregate and after the match with Hajduk Split ended 0-0 so that means they have yet to concede a goal in the Europa League. At the start of their domestic season they lost to Astra by 1-0 and then in their next match they played a draw with city rivals Dynamo as it ended 3-3. They will be kicking themselves for failing to win as they had the lead three times in that match. In the previous two rounds they beat Iasi and Gaz Metan in which they played with a mixed team. The players to watch here will be striker Gnohere and captain Tanase who are in excellent form.



HAJDUK SPLIT

Last season they finished third place in the championship and the Cup finals and considering all the circumstances it is a good result for them. They started the Europa League in the second round and their opponent then was Bulgarian Slavia from Sofia, whom they managed to beat twice. After winning 1-0 at home, they were expected to have problems in the second leg but then they managed to win by 3-2 and surprised many in the process. In the Croatian Championships they started poorly as they lost to Osijek by 4-1. After that they played a draw with Lokomotiv as it ended 1-1, while the draw with Rijeka can be said to be a good result against a strong team. Just three minutes before the end they were close to losing a match but they were saved by the heroics of goalkeeper Caktasa. That was their third consecutive draw after the draw with FCSB as well. As for the team news, they will be without the likes of center-back Nizic, midfiedler Besirevic and goalkeeper Duka while their new players will not start this match.
