INTRODUCTION

This is the quarter final clash between Bulgarian G. Dimitrov and South African K. Anderson. In the previous round,Dimitrov managed to beat F. Tiafoe, while Anderson managed to beat I. Ivashka.



DIMITROV

Despite starting as favourites, he struggled against F. Tiafoe in the previous round. The match took two and a half hours and Dimitrov won by 7:6 3:6 7:6. Looking at the result alone we can say that Dimitrov did not have it easy in the match. The fifth player in the world had a tough resistance from the young American player in all three sets. In fact Dimitrov had a bit of luck in winning the match it can be said. The reason it can be said is because Tiafoe came to a break in the first set but Dimitrov managed to return to the set in the next game. Tiafoe also took over Dimitrov's service, and then managed to take advantage for it to be 1:1. In the third set, Tiafoe again managed a break advantage but he failed to use in his favour and the same happened in the third set in the tie break. The statistics of the match was fairly equal, but it has to be said that Dimitrov was lucky to get through.



ANDERSON

Anderson was much better in his match compared to how Dimitrov fared. He managed to defeat I. Ivashka by 7:5 6:3. However, Anderson did not get the start to the match that he wanted as he had to save for the match even four break-balls at his first service. However, what Ivashka did not managed to use in the first game he managed to do in the ninth, when it came to a very important advabtage and the first set service. However Ivashka failed to make a use of this great chance to which Anderson punished him him with two breaks to get the 1:0 advantage. Ivashka played well until the end of the second set, until he could not withstand the pressure he had at his service. Thereafter it was not difficult for Anderson to use the result 0:40 at his opponent's service. As for the statistics it was all on Anderson's side.



PAST MEETINGS

The seven times that they have faced each other, Dimitrov has won six in his favour. However, the last meeting was played two years ago and since then much has changed.
