Atalanta will hope to get off to a good start as they welcome the visit of newly promoted Frosinone on Monday Night Football.

Atalanta will start as the favourites as they open their campaign against Frosinone who last played in Serie A in 2015 and were relegated as they finished rock bottom. They come into this match after having played two rounds of Europa League qualifiers where they managed two easy easy wins over the likes of Sarajevo (10-2 on aggregate) and Israeli side Hapoel Haifa (6-1 on aggregate). Now they have progressed further to meet Danish opponents Copenhagen. Hence, this is why this match is being played on Monday night. They have lost a few key players in the transfer window, namely Leonardo Spinazzola who left for Juventus, Mattia Caldara to Milan and Bryan Cristante to Roma.



FROSINONE

This is their second appearance in Serie A after they gained promotion in the 2015-2016 season. Then they finished in 19th spot. Now they will want to avoid a similar fate and will want a good start to their season, and they have improved their squad in the transfer window. They have secured the services of Joel Campbell, who did played for Arsenal before and he was a key member of the Costa Rica squad, which made that impressive run to the quarterfinals at the 2014 World Cup. He was also member of the Costa Rica squad that made it to the quarter-finals of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the semis of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. However he did not get much time in Arsenal as he was kept out on loan since his arrival to Arsenal in 2011 since he was unable to get a work permit together with other issues. It remains to be seen if he can inspire them to great heights in Serie A this season.

Their last meeting was back in 2015 where Atalanta managed to beat Frosinone by 2-0 when they hosted them. Away from home it ended in a 0-0 draw.
