INTRODUCTION

Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli side will now travel to Genoa to take on Sampdoria after completing two remarkable comebacks in their last two matches.

Marco Giampaolo’s will hope to bounce back after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Udinese last week. Their first match was postponed due to the bridge tragedy in Genoa. No doubt now this match against Napoli will be an emotional return to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for them. Their gameplay has been somehwat affected by the departures of key players such as Duvan Zapata, Emiliano Viviano and Lucas Torreira in the transfer window. Zapata absence from the team means there is an increase burden on the shoulders of Fabio Quagliarella. In gaol, the young Emil Audero will have a difficult task to fill the gap left by Viviano who has left to join Sporting Lisbon. No doubt their failure to sign the likes of Simone Zaza and Antonino La Gumina means their attack is quite blunt now as they have scored only one goal in the Serie A and the Coppa Italia matches they played. That lone goal came from midfielder Jakub Jankto. Last season they conceded 60 goals in total and that was the worst defensive record in the top ten sides of Serie A. Now they will be without the likes of Vasco Regini and Dennis Praet for this match



NAPOLI

No doubt Napoli are not missing Maurizio Sarri at all as after two games they are doing well with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm as they did well to come back from 1-0 and 2-0 deficits into 2-1 and 3-2 against Lazio and Milan respectively. Now they will be looking to go for their third win against Sampdoria. Their confidence will be good after managing two win against the likes of Lazio and Milan and now Ancelotti knows they need to show more consistency if they are to start a serious bid for the Scudetto challenge early in the season. In goal, David Ospina is set to keep his place between the posts, even though he was not cinvincing against Milan. The same can be said for Arkadiusz Milik even though he did improved much in the second half. We could also see Dries Mertens starting this match after he scored the winning goal against Milan and that could earn him a starting berth in this match. They will be without Faouzi Ghoulam who is recovering from a fractured right kneecap as well as Alex Meret, Fabian Ruiz and Amin Younes who are out injured.
