INTRODUCTION

The last match of the fourth round is also the derby of the round as Monaco welcomes the visit of Marseille but with two teams having only four points they occupy 9th and 10th in the standings respectively. But these two teams are in the same class as Lyon, who are the only real strong competitiors to PSG in the last couple of seasons. Monaco finished second last season while Marseille finished fourth in the standings.



AS MONACO

Fans of Monaco will want them to get a win here regardless of any margin no doubt considering they lost their last match to Bordeaux away from home by 2-1. Prior to that they drew at home to Lille by 0-0. At the start of the season they played a very good match when they beat Nantes by 3-1. However they are still behind PSG as before the season started they lost to PSG in the French Super Cup by 4-0. So right now manager Jardim cannot be satisfied with the performance of his players. So before the transfer window closed, they brought in defender Henrichs and winger Chadli. They are not likely to start this match on Sunday and due to injuries they are still without the likes of goalkeeper Subasic, defenders Raggi and Pierre-Gabriel, midfielder Golovin and striker Jovetic.



OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE

After three rounds they have managed just four points. They started the season well when they beat Toulouse at home by 4-0. After that they lost to newcomers Nimes by 3-1. Last weekend they were down by two goals against newcomers Rennes, but then they fought back and scored two goals as it ended 2-2. Now we are likely to expect manager Garcia making changes in defence for this clash with Monaco. We could see the introduction of Sakai and Caleta-Car in the starting eleven, while midfield and attack will likely stay unchanged, despite towards the end of the transfer window they bought Dutch midfielder Strootman from Roma and fleet-footed winger Radonjic from Red Star Belgrade. Due to injuries they will be without the likes of goalkeeper Mandanda and stoppers Rolando and Abdennour.
