INTRODUCTION

Fenerbahce will aim to overturn a one goal deficit after they were beaten 1-0 in Lisbon in the first leg. They will rely on home ground advantage and they will also want to exact revenge as Benfica had eliminated them in the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2013.



FENERBAHCE

It remains to be seen if Fenerbahce can overturn the first leg deficit as can be seen from the evidence of the clash last week that Benfica was the better team and they were rewarded by a solitary goal. Now they can play more defensively and wait to counter attack on the break. Their only goal was scored by striker Cervi in the middle of the second half and midfielder Pizzi had scored three goals at the start of Portuguese league when Benfica beat Vitoria de Guimaraes 3-2 at home. But manager Vitorio will not have been happy that his team conceded two goals late in the match and now against Fenerbahce his team must play more defensively. Due to injuries they will be without the likes of goalkeeper Varela, defender Ebuehi, midfielder Krovinovic and striker Jonas.
