Eintracht Frankfurt

After disappointing pre-season, Eintracht Frankfurt put on a good display in their opening match last week and won with 0-2 away against SC Freiburg. They played without two important players in that game – team captain David Abraham and defender Makoto Hasebe, with both players fully back in training during the week and ready to play in this match. Striker Sebastien Haller played a really good first game last week and managed to score a goal. He was Eintracht Frankfurt`s top scorer last season with nine goals scored. Eintracht Frankfurt have been really dominant against Werder Bremen in their home games in recent seasons. They are unbeaten against them in eight straight home games, winning in five of those matches.



Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen were really lucky last week. They played poorly and were losing with 0-1 against Hannover 96 up until five minutes before the end when their defender Theodor Gebre Selassie somehow managed to score an equalizing goal for 1-1 draw. This season Werder Bremen will mostly rely on players from last season plus they brought back their 40-year old veteran Claudio Pizarro. Last week`s 1-1 draw against Hannover 96 was Werder Bremen`s fifth game out of the last six that ended with under 2.5 goals scored.



THE BETTING VERDICT

Eintracht Frankfurt impressed in their opening away victory against SC Freiburg and they should be stronger in this game after the return of two important first-team players. On the other side, Werder Bremen showed a struggling performance in the opening draw against Hannover 96 and they will probably need more time before they start playing as expected. Eintracht Frankfurt have been a solid home side in the recent seasons and I expect them to record their first home victory in this match.
