BURNLEY

Sean Dyche was not happy with some of the refereeing decisions made in the First Leg of this Champions League Play Off tie and Burnley have been left in something of a hole having lost 3-1 in Greece. The squad looks to be stretched in the early part of the 2018/19 season as Burnley have made a poor start to the Premier League campaign as they balance playing the Thursday-Sunday schedule so an exit from the Europa League may not be a big blow for the manager. The fans won't want to see Burnley exit before the Group Stage though as they have waited a long time to see some big European nights at Turf Moor. Thursday will need to be a big night if Burnley are able to overcome Olympiacos especially as they have needed extra time to beat both Aberdeen and Istanbul Basaksehir to make it through to the Play Off Round. Burnley have yet to win any of their 8 games played in all competitions in normal time with a couple of their wins coming in extra time in the Europa League. At least they managed to come through and win those games in the added time, but Burnley were beaten convincingly 1-3 by Watford in their first Premier League game here earlier this month. Expect to see some changes as Sean Dyche gives his full squad a chance to impress. Ben Gibson is suspended after being sent off last week in the First Leg.



OLYMPIACOS

Most people have become accustomed to seeing Olympiacos in the Champions League these days, but they failed to finish in the top two in Greece last season which means entering the Europa League instead. They have looked very good at this level of the Qualifiers having won all 3 played ahead of this Second Leg and Olympiacos will be confident of wrapping up the success and a place in the Group Stage on Thursday. In the Third Qualifying Round Olympiacos crushed Luzern 7-1 on aggregate which included a 1-3 win in the Second Leg away from home. They did lose all 3 away games in the Champions League Group Stage last season at Juventus, Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon, but Olympiacos have won their last 3 away Qualifiers in European competition. Olympiacos have begun the 2018/19 season by winning all 4 games they have played in all competitions. They did end last season having won just 2 of their last 8 away games in all competitions and Olympiacos had lost their final 2 on their travels, but snapped that run with the win in Luzern in the last Qualifying Round of the Europa League.
